Who are we?
Is my annual contribution amount due at the time I join?
The Power of 100 Women is a Coffee County based organization that brings together women from all walks of life to support charities in our community. By harnessing the power of women coming together, we can have a much greater impact than any of us could individually.
What is the purpose?
We strive to come together to network, have fellowship, and make a difference in our community. It is our mission to join forces to make a larger impact by working together.
Who do we serve?
We serve all of Coffee County, and the local non-profits that wish to apply to our organization.
Are there meetings?
Members of POW meet quarterly to hear presentations from three non-profit organizations. Each member commits to donating a minimum of $100 to one of these organizations, to create a total donation of $10,000 each quarter or $40,000 annually. These group fundraising efforts allow us to have an impact that we can see in the communities where we live, work, play, and raise our families.
What if I can’t afford to commit to $100 quarterly?
We understand that $100 quarterly may be difficult to commit to; however, we want to ensure everyone that wants to be a part of this organization is able. In this group, we are allowing teams of up to 4 individuals to join together to contribute. So, if you and three friends want to join together, each of you will contribute $25 at each meeting, and $100 annually. If forming or being part of a team still isn’t realistic for your current giving capacity, please join us and give your time and encouragement to us and the non-profits we serve. There is room for all of us at this table.
No. At the end of each meeting, you will write your check, or donate your money directly to the majority voted non-profit.
What if I am unable to attend the quarterly meetings?
While we would love to see you at all of our meetings, we know that sometimes, life gets in the way, and some may be unable to attend. In that case, you may send your contribution with another member of POW to contribute on your behalf.
I am a member of a non-profit, may I still join?
Absolutely! We welcome everyone, and if your non-profit is selected to receive the benefits of our giving, we hope you will encourage other non-profits to apply!
If my non-profit is selected to receive funds, can we apply again?
Most certainly, but we do request that you wait 18 months to reapply, as to help us spread the wealth and allow other local non-profits to benefit.
I am a business owner and would like to contribute further, is that allowed?
Absolutely! While coming together to raise funds for area charities, we aim to create an enjoyable experience for all in attendance. If you , or someone you know would like to sponsor a venue, or food and beverages for the meetings, we welcome your contribution and look forward to working with you!
Life happened, and I’m no longer able to be a member of POW. What do I do?
If you decide to cancel your membership, know that we hate to see you go; however we do understand. We ask that you notify us in writing, and help us to fill your spot, so we can continue to contribute on the same levels, if not on a greater level.
